Kate HickmottKate has had her hands in the soil for as long as she can remember- so after a career in training and employment she picked up a garden trowel and developed her gardening business.

Her motivation for gardening is deeply personal and although the end product is very important to her it is the process that she finds most rewarding and being out side in amongst it all that she finds so stimulating. It is this passion for gardening that Kate would like to share through her mentoring.

Kate’s love of colour and the thrill of combining plants that complement one another is evident in her plantings and she works on planting plans with or for customers.

Kate is committed to sustainable practice in garden development and maintenance and uses organic principles , her starting point is always the soil.

Some of her favourite things…….

Ancient made land forms , frosty mornings, skylarks singing on a hot day, daisies on the lawn, flowing drifts of flowers and grasses, wonky topiary, shafts of sunlight in a shady wood, the veg patch in august.RHS Level 3 Cert in Practical Horticulture – on going
